ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the findings of the world’s first rigorous empirical study on inclusive leadership but first a word first about the factors that prioritised a study on inclusive leadership. A survey was created in which the questions on the leadership style perceived by employees in respondent organisations were rooted in transformational and servant leadership, with the second half of the survey seeking employee perceptions of their own productivity, motivation and well-being. It should also be noted that whilst the survey data reveals apparently strong uniform responses across the sample, it also reveals patterns of response by individual variables. The most significant of these occur in comparisons across organisations and across demographic variables. The survey and interview results combined show that people at all levels believe that inclusive leadership brings many positive benefits to the organisation and the individuals within it.
