ABSTRACT
The recognition of and research on the Chinese economic model has been constantly developing along with practices of Chinese socialist construction. At the early stage of economic reform, on the one hand, practices of economic system reform were proposing increasingly strong demands on theoretical reform, and, on the other hand, the conventional western economics and traditional socialist economic theories lacked systematic theories of evolution of the market economic system. Discussions and opinions of Chinese scholars revealed certain experiences and features of the economic transition method in China and enriched the understanding of the process of economic transition. In the face of the new situation and tasks, people gradually get rid of the way of thinking of economics in transition and attempt to draw general theories and experiences on economic development and system evolution based on practices in China. The goal of the economic system reform in China is to establish the socialist market economic system.
