ABSTRACT

The creative marketing executive working on Filmmakers' movie will hire an agency who will work to produce various looks that are the basis for potential advertising campaigns. In most cases, budget permitting, a special photographer is hired to do posed set-ups that also serve as the basis for a poster, teaser posters, the online campaign or for additional publicity. The unit photographer is working with the publicity group to capture from the movie with the cast. These photographs have a very different purpose than photos the creative group might need in order to create a poster. During the post-production period, the creative team is hard at work realizing a number of advertising comps that they get ready for presentation. Once a broad range of poster comps are produced, the dialogue begins between the creative execs, their bosses who run the studio, the producers and director and last, but certainly not least, the cast and their agents and handlers.
