ABSTRACT

Creative marketing is a problem-solving industry. Filmmakers are so creative and know their movie intimately, but can often get stuck on a certain notion or idea, which makes them become very myopic. A successful marketing executive or creative director can help a filmmaker think beyond their film. On the creative advertising side, there is perhaps nothing that has such as profound impact on a trailer or piece of short form content than a music cue. Usually the vendor who is hired specializes in audio visual advertising which includes trailer, teaser trailer, and web content. The creative team and the trailer house will have to comb through the movie and look for as many outdoor and wide scope shots as they can find. This is a case where they may also cut in some stock footage of a cornfield or ask the filmmakers to grab some additional establishing shots of the small town just for the campaign.
