ABSTRACT

On July 1-3, the fi fty-nation Afro-Asian People’s Solidarity Organization (AAPSO) held a conference in the ASU People’s Hall. Th e AAPSO Secretary-General opened his remarks on imperialist conspiracies in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He emphasized Israel’s role as an imperialist base in the Middle East and as an instrument to eliminate progressive Arab regimes. Anwar Sadat, Speaker of Egypt’s National Assembly, followed by remarking that the Arab struggle against Israel was also an Afro-Asian struggle: “Th e events that paved the way for this treacherous military aggression,” he voiced, and “the events that occurred during and after aggression indicate a number of facts we should lay before us as we assess this aggression.”1
