ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 explores how the concept of the postdigital offers new and exciting ways of rethinking our post-postmodern (metamodernist) condition. It sets out a new and modified understanding of postdigitality, before exploring its impact on established conceptual terms such as digital storytelling and electronic literature. As well as positing a revised four-layer model of postdigital storytelling, building on Katherine N. Hayles’ print/code dichotomy, the chapter examines the role and function of storytelling as a form of research, establishing an enabling relationship between practice, praxis and research.
