ABSTRACT

Typical mature B-cell lymphomas are characterized by bright expression of CD45, positive HLA-DR, and dim to moderate expression of B-cell markers (e.g., CD19, CD20, CD22, and

CD79a); B-ALL usually displays negative or dim CD45, positive HLA-DR, and positive terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) and/or CD34, while the majority of plasma cell neoplasms are characterized by bright expression of CD38 and CD138, negative CD45, CD19, and CD20, frequent expression of CD56 and/ or CD117, and monotypic expression of cytoplasmic light and heavy chain immunoglobulins.
