ABSTRACT
This epilogue is a brief attempt to bring the ideas discussed in this book into sharper relief by comparing and contrasting them with some modern notions of character among elites. It also very briefly looks at ideas put forward on behalf of the people who have recently voted to leave the European Union and examines them to see to what extent traditional notions of character and empire are still embedded in them.
