ABSTRACT

Fundamental and practically permanent in the system of Communism is the element of violence, of force, of compulsion. This is all the more serious in a continuing revolution which is to be perpetuated until the last enemy is dead or utterly crushed. When the time is ripe the Comintern or Communist International, directed from Moscow, calls for the violent overthrow of the whole existing social order and the complete destruction of each state, if possible by a minimum of bloodshed, but if required by all necessary use of violent destruction. The danger in the Communists thus committing themselves to the unlimited use of force and violence is evident. Communists may sweep aside the appeal to reason, the disciplines of liberty, the evolutionary, constitutional and educational institutions built up in the hard-won triumphs of civilization throughout the centuries. A class is more cruel than an individual, especially a long oppressed class.
