ABSTRACT

Most Communists believe their system to be strictly scientific. Marx is held to have completely demonstrated his positions and to have provided a foundation for his whole system by his strictly scientific theory of value and of surplus value. Marx, Lenin and Stalin are all examples of the incarnation of the element of dogmatism in the Communist system and of the price that has to be paid for it. They were all heroic but harsh, hard and destructive. One aspect of dogmatism is found in their attitude to religion. While religionists are allowed to meet in their respective places of worship, no one can be a good Communist or a member of the Party who is not both in profession and practice a dogmatic atheist with anti-religious zeal. It is true that the Constitution of Soviet Union guarantees liberty of conscience and worship. The class is always placed above humanity while the collectivity crushes personality. Materialism turns men into things.
