ITVS Digital Open Call programs such genres from Arts & Culture, Democracy & Rights, Diversity & Identity, Health & Environment and International stories. There is still often more money available from Broadcast TV than digital platforms except for the lucky few. We pitched to a number of the TV networks ourselves, although there were some that we didn't have contacts for, like Showtime or EPIX, but we knew our film probably wouldn't be a good fit for them. Through our international distributors, Scorpion TV, the national Russian TV network bought Musicwood to show nationally in Russia and on their cable channel here in the US. Agents can get filmmakers that access and if those platforms are interested they will pay a lot of money for "originals". However, if these streaming platforms acquire films they pay a lot less.
