ABSTRACT

Crowdfunding should come after filmmakers have worked on their social media presence. If filmmakers have a team helping them with filmmakers' social media make sure filmmakers talk about tone, that they read all of their written information about the film, and have seen filmmakers' 10–15 minute sizzle video, which showcases major scenes of the film. Filmmakers will need a team to help them with filmmakers' social media outreach as this can be a full-time job and a continuous one for the life of their film. There is conflicting advice about Twitter. Someone once told us that unless filmmakers' a celebrity or journalist, or selling something, don't worry too much about using Twitter. Start designing postcards and leave a blank space for labels that can be printed out with relevant screening details or addresses. Filmmakers can use a WordPress or a Squarespace template; they make it reasonably simple to make a website these days.
