ABSTRACT
The National Book League has touring exhibitions on 'Books for the Multi-racial Classroom' and on English Language work with 'immigrant' children. The exhibition focusing on Language work contains 460 items, includes books on the teaching of English as a second language, immigrant background, stimuli to correct pronunciation and information, dictionaries and visual aids. Useful indexes covering audio-visual aids are: celpis (Colleges of Education Learning Programmes Information Service) that lists some audio-visual materials made by colleges and departments of education and helpis (Higher Education Learning Programmes Information Service) that covers some audio-visual materials made by higher and further education institutions. It is arranged in classified order and has a subject index. The Library and Resource Centre of the Commonwealth Institute has a wide range of loan material to stimulate interest in the contemporary Commonwealth. It has material on race relations and education in multiracial schools as well as on Commonwealth and associated topics.
