ABSTRACT

My parents decided that I was to attend school in England. Mother took me across the North Sea once more: this time back to Old England. I commenced at the Junior School of the Wesleyan college, at Taunton, Sommersetshire. Mr. Hancock was Master of the School. It was quite natural, that my parents wished to give me, and later on my two sisters, the very best education possible, under Methodist influence. My sisters attended Flook House, of which Mrs. Sibly was in charge, wife of the headmaster of our college. Mr. Sibly himself, and the Rector of our College, Mr. Slater, were no doubt warmhearted christians, but the old time Methodist influence, throughout the school, was wanting. The college has since then changed its name, and is now known as Queens College.
