ABSTRACT

In the last chapter of Part I, the author presents information about the double birth of Darwinian biology in England (evolutionism, phylogeny) and experimental psychology throughout Europe and the U nited States. Of the major names, Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget is the focus for his new and original theory on how logical thinking (in line with Aristotle and Descartes) develops in stages in human behaviours from babies and young children to adults (ontogeny). This theory marks the link between Part I and Part II.
