ABSTRACT
Depending on the jurisdiction, it is incumbent upon a gaming facility to request and facilitate the prosecution of criminal offenders whenever possible. This is accomplished by presenting the evidence to law enforcement who typically then complete a written report and attach the investigator’s, security personnel’s or surveillance agent’s work product and report. This does not conclude the work on the file and is the beginning of the next phase of the investigation, called prosecution. Prosecution is the process by which local authorities comply with law and prove that a crime was committed and present the person that committed the crime to pay their debt to the victims and society.
