ABSTRACT
Liability is a constant in all business environments and gaming facilities are an attractive target for the litigious and the people who have a legitimate legal claim. Investigations are full of tripwires that could ultimately involve a lawsuit against the enterprise and even individually for the investigator. No investigator is fully immune to a lawsuit if it can be proven that there was negligence or an intentional act that caused a plaintiff damage. The concept of a litigation claim will be that the conduct of the investigator was not reasonable under the circumstances and caused some form of harm to the litigant.
