ABSTRACT

The hotel in a casino complex is an amenity that supports the gambling and revenues for the enterprise. The hotel is essentially the temporary domicile of the guest who has rented the room from the enterprise. There are statutory laws and ordinances in every jurisdiction that address the hotel operator and the traveling public. The investigator should collect these hotel laws, commonly known as innkeeper laws, which apply to the jurisdiction where the hotel is located. A check with the company or tribal attorney will establish which jurisdiction is applicable, if state laws or compacts mandate jurisdiction, or how it applies to innkeeper laws.
