ABSTRACT

Every jurisdiction completes vendor and employee background checks, which vary widely in scope, detail and time devoted to each person or entity. The process is typically highly regulated and there are also many different laws that must be complied with on a national, state and specific regulatory jurisdiction. As a result, there is no one single process that is followed consistently throughout the gaming industry. The concept is to ensure that every person who works at or does business with the facility is not a known criminal and does not have any other undesirable trait or history of negative or undesirable behaviors. Regardless of the process, it is important for any investigator assigned to this tedious task that there should be no shortcuts taken in the process.
