ABSTRACT
There are occasions and situations when covert surveillance investigations are necessary. Such investigations are almost exclusively handled by the surveillance department. This is due to obvious reasons: surveillance has the personnel and equipment to dedicate to and conduct covert investigations; in fact, it is part of their job description.
What are covert investigations and how do they differ from what surveillance normally does? How are they used? We will answer these questions and others in this chapter.
