Employee Theft Investigations

This critically important section discusses employee theft. The casino hotel investigator will spend, by far, more time investigating employee theft and fraud and discipline issues than in other areas of crime. Businesses suffer their largest theft and fraud losses to the employee. As such, the investigator must understand why employees steal from their employer, what is vulnerable to theft and the common methods used to commit the theft or fraud. Understanding basic concepts about employee theft will allow the investigator to successfully investigate an employee and even, in some cases, predict where theft may occur.
