ABSTRACT

Bingo and keno are games that have been played and enjoyed for many years. While bingo remains consistently popular, keno’s popularity has declined, although there has been a recent increase in its play across the United States. What hasn’t changed for either game is the potential for theft, fraud or cheating. While scams in these areas aren’t reported often, the fact is that both games are vulnerable and are attacked, despite the use of technology in recent years to operate and protect these games. The investigator will learn that these games are usually operated without routine observation by surveillance personnel, and that the long-term employees in these areas can work with long-time players to maybe increase their tokes, and perhaps to collude to beat the game.
