ABSTRACT

Once a service or point of interaction between healthcare workers and recipients of care is identified for improvement, then people who have experienced this service or point of care need to be found. Meetings of the meaningful experience design group working on the project offer opportunities to share some initial aspects of the value streams and for the participants to get to know each other’s perspective a little better. It can be helpful to people to share their stories of the services they received. Engaging with people in meaningful experience design requires that the important aspects of their value stream are brought to the surface in order to understand how they influence emotions and experiences. When the project is concluding, it is helpful to describe the improvements to the people who participated as recipients of care and shared their feelings and beliefs, values, and principles.
