ABSTRACT
The official historians (cronistas) of Charles V were the following, in chronological order: Fr. Antonio de Guevara, Juan Ginés de Sepúlveda, Pedro Mexía, Florián de Ocampo, Barnabé Busto, Juan Páez de Castro, Lorenzo de Padilla and Alonso de Santa Cruz. Of them some are worthy of special note in this place.
