ABSTRACT
An International Production Order, linking every country in a single economic community. Some of these practical men have lost every doubt concerning the efficiency of the purely national economic system. They regard autarchy as the natural means of serving their country and their people. This consequence is an organization of the national output so as to free the state almost completely from economic relations with other countries. The extent to which Western European and other countries can achieve autarchy varies very greatly; it depends on the economic construction of each country, the natural riches and the economic resources at its disposal. Legislation to transform the private economic system into a collective system can also be rapidly introduced. The policy of autarchy is a short-term policy: a policy which aims at overcoming, at a single stroke, all the difficulties which arise daily in economic life. The present world depression has set many men thinking on the possibilities of reforming economic life.
