ABSTRACT
Corporate planning can be used in all types of organization -the essential ingredients of the system - the essential nature of the corporate planner's job - the essential nature of corporate planning. The chapter concerns the detailed methodology of the Five Step Process. It is time to stand back from the detail and consider the essential ingredients of the corporate planning approach to the management of companies and other organizations. Corporate planning recognizes the essential need to determine the objective for organizations. It is strongly recommended that the corporate planner does not do any planning; he should only see that it is done. Corporate planning cannot add to the qualities of leadership displayed by the company's senior men. It can give the ship a rudder and can plot the course, it cannot provide a good Captain.
