ABSTRACT

The Peregrine Asia Index —Foreign is a market capitalization-weighted index that tracks the stock price performance of a universe of Asia-Pacific companies available to foreign investors which are listed in nine markets. The index covers 13 regional economies, including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. The market capitalization of each constituent security is based on that proportion of its issued capital that is available to foreign investors. Constituent shares are reviewed on a daily and quarterly basis and, if warranted by a significant change in local market practices, modifications are made prior to the quarterly review date. New issues with a market capitalization in excess of 1% of the local market's capitalization may be included, if approved, from the second day of trading. Index constituents are selected on the basis of their availability to foreign investors, market capitalization, daily turnover and free-float.
