ABSTRACT

The Dow Jones Global Stock Index is a market capitalization-weighted index that tracks the daily stock price only performance of equity securities on a worldwide basis. Twenty-five countries are represented in the index, inlcuding companies in North America, Latin America, Asia, Europe and Africa. Index members are included and accounted for in the country index based on the country in which each company is incorporated. The Dow Jones Global Stock Index expanded on the existing Dow Jones Equity Market Index introduced in 1988 and which represents the World Index's US component. The Financial Times/Standard & Poor's (FT/S&P) Actuaries World Index is a market capitalization-weighted index that tracks the daily stock price and total return performance of investable securities worldwide. The FT/S&P Actuaries World Index was co-founded by the Financial Times, Goldman Sachs & Co. and Natwest Securities Ltd. in conjunction with the Institute of Actuaries and the Faculty of Actuaries.
