ABSTRACT

The Morley Capital 1-Year GIC Index tracks the monthly total return performance of one year compound interest bullet contracts in US dollar 1.0 million denominations. The index consists of 12 contracts with laddered maturities so that one contract matures each month. The index along with its companion indices was introduced on or about 1980, and backdated to 1969 on the basis of certain assumptions. The Ryan Labs 5-Year Master GIC Index is an equal-weighted index that tracks the monthly representative rates for a diversified investment grade portfolio of 5-year compounded bullet contracts of US dollar 1.0 million deposits. The index represents the arithmetic average of market rates, as of the end of every month. The Schmidt Composite GIC Index is an equally-weighted index that tracks the monthly total return performance of simple interest contracts in US dollar 1.0 million denominations with maturities of one- to 10 years.
