ABSTRACT

In tracing the origin and evolution of the human race, it might be of some interest to the readers to help to elucidate the immense ages of time that have passed, and to review "The New Knowledge" in combination with "The Old Knowledge" of the Wise Men of Egypt. The geologist, from an examination of the earth's strata from lowest to highest, finds an ever-increasing complexity in the organic remains which rocks contain. The astronomer, from an examination of the stars from hottest to coldest, finds an ever-increasing complexity in the so-called elements which they contain. They both deduce an evolution from simpler forms to more complexes, and their deductions are equally valid. Organic evolution is measured by millions of years: inorganic by billions, from the hottest to the coldest stars. Corpuscles are little bodies laden with negative electricity thrown off from glowing metals, incandescent carbon, or gas flames.
