ABSTRACT

The oldest evidence of man's existence on the Earth is afforded by his implements. Stone implements are found all over Africa in large numbers, and of every type and variety, showing that all the "manufacturers" of them existed there. The Rhodesian Museum possesses a very creditable collection, some made of jaspery slate rock, others of quartzite. Many implements correspond quite closely in the matter of size, shape, and workmanship to those found in Europe and America; also many roughly shaped scrapers, chipped on one side only, and flakes of epidiorite are exhibited in the Museum. No hafted implements can be associated with the Pre-Totemic group—they had not attained the knowledge of hafting. The Egyptians were a progressive people, and when they evolved to Solar Cult, they not only changed many forms and ceremonies, but changed the fashion of dress, as well as many other things.
