ABSTRACT

A deficient appreciation of the State and of law on the part of a proletarian is merely a manifestation of the lack of the complementary relationship. There is linked to the oppositional relationship a second one, of a different kind but lying in the same dimension: the complementary relationship. A deficient appreciation of the State and of law on the part of a proletarian is merely a manifestation of the lack of the complementary relationship. The complementary relationship therefore pertains to the same concrete manifoldness of values— in its entire extensionto which the remaining relations pertain. Thus the trust bestowed upon one who is unreliable or the fidelity shown to one who is suspicious is still of moral worth; it lacks only the axiological completion of its meaning in the adequate disposition of another. Communion in the inter-personal relation of two human beings is the categorial form of complementary relationship.
