ABSTRACT

The war is over. Another war. But men continue to die. Egyptian commandos this morning attack a brigade HQ. The commanders are in a meeting when RPG rockets begin to explode around them. A number of men are killed. 297Desperate and panic-stricken Egyptian soldiers are trying to make a way through their own lines. Many are killed, but in the exchanges of fire they also hit Israelis. In the Third Army, some Egyptians are prepared to surrender, but their comrades shoot them as they try to give themselves up. Within the two besieged Third Army divisions, courts martial are judging any soldier who tries to surrender, and the penalty is fifteen years imprisonment with hard labor.
