ABSTRACT

Using both the optimal model and my evaluation and diagnosis of current public policymaking, can set down the major areas in which contemporary public policymaking needs to be improved. These areas can be derived fairly easily from my descriptive listing of the ways in which current policymaking differs from optimal policymaking on pp. 121–122. By recasting these differences into a normative form, I arrive at the following list of major areas in which policymaking must be improved.
