ABSTRACT

A nother important medicine (bhe~ajti) is jiilii~ti (~V: jtilii~a, as an ad-jective) which refers to Rudra's remedy.1 Although it is impossible to know its precise meaning, it appears to have the qualities of a

cooling, watery medicine.2 Bloomfield, based primarily on Kau5S 31.11-15 and its commentaries

(see below), has argued that it refers to urine;3 while Geldner has maintained that it is rainwater conceived as cosmic urine.4 Filliozat cites both explanations and concludes that it does not refer to any real remedy.5
