ABSTRACT
In the autobiography, Shiragian left shortly before his death, in 1973, Shiragian simply described this investigator by the initial M, because of his incompetence. On his return to the Via Cola di Rienzo, Arshavir found his landlady, named Maria, ready to go for a short walk with him. The Corriere della Sera was spread out on the table in front of her, with half of its front page devoted to the assassination. Arshavir preferred to change the subject and pretended not to be interested in the news, but he realized that Maria was not fooled. Arshavir would spend the last few evenings of his Roman holidays with his friends in the Armenian student's circle, who were beginning to suspect his activities. Some of them had even been questioned by the police after the killing of Saïd Halim, but they had not been asked any questions about Shiragian.
