ABSTRACT

Early i n this book I presented the concept of the social ins t i tu t ion as a change-agency, and intervening chapters, part icularly those having to do w i t h students i n college, have referred repeatedly to the role of such agencies i n personality development. N o w I w o u l d l ike to introduce an elementary model of the change-process and to apply i t to a different type of inst i tut ion-the mental hospital.
