ABSTRACT

The main sources for ˚Abd al-Wahha\b al-Sha˚ra\nê’s biography are his own writings, in particular his copious and very interesting autobiography Lat ≥a \’if al-minan. Autobiographical elements are also found in some of his other works such as al-T˘abaqa \t al-kubra\, al-Bah ≥r almawru\d, al-T ˘abaqa\t, al-s≥ughra \, and al-Akhla\q al-matbu\liyya.
