ABSTRACT

In this chapter, author discusses his experiences in Rajasthan and the Golden Triangle that illuminate what traveling in Rajasthan is like. He offers a commentary on his experiences in Rajasthan and hope that, while his narrative is personal, it may provide some insights into various aspects of Indian culture and provides an idea of what travel in Rajasthan and India is like. The more he thinks about his stay in India, the more he realize how remarkable it was—for India was an experience unlike any other travels he had, and, he would say, most people who have traveled in India would say the same thing. The airport in Delhi provides many international tourists with their first experience of India. On his tour of Rajasthan from Jasbhag Tours, the prospectus said something to this effect: "And now, for the highlight of the trip, a camel safari in the Thar Desert." There was something rather wonderful about driving through the Thar Desert.
