ABSTRACT
The classification of antitrade biased production effect can be used to determine the resultant type of overall growth, under the various types of consumption behaviour. Assume that country antitrade biased consists of identical individuals with respect to tastes and factor endowments both before and after growth. The total effect on the welfare of antitrade biased Representative Citizen depends on the combined effect of both the wealth effect and the terms-of-trade effect. Technical progress is an important factor of growth. It occurs when increased output can be obtained over time from given resources of capital and labor. Embodied technical progress occurs when progress is embodied in new capital goods; it becomes effective after the installation of the new capital goods in which it is embodied. Labor-Saving Technical Progress occurs in an industry when increased output is obtained from given quantities of labor and capital.
