ABSTRACT

Germany had become closely linked with the United States;

the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China were its

major adversaries. By 1965 the Communist Chinese were ac-

cusing Nikita Khrushchev and his successors of having formed

an alliance with the United States, while Red Star, the Soviet

Army newspaper, was charging that a "Red China lobby" ex-

isted in the United States which was bent on seeking an ac-

commodation with Communist China at the expense of the

Soviet Union.
