ABSTRACT
T.H. Kogyo is a world-class manufacturer of sliding bearings, including engine bearings, bushings, and thrust washers for automobiles. Founded with capital of ¥ 180,000 ($744) in 1939 in the city of Nishio, Aiichi Prefecture, the company began machining all automobile bushings for Toyota Motor Corporation’s cars in 1947. In 1958 it inaugurated a new aluminum die-casting plant, and in 1969 built a factory that specializes in processing half-bearings. The company employs roughly 1,000 workers and managers.
