The term setup applies to much more than the preparation and after-adjustment of a processing operation; it also refers to inspection, transportation and waiting operations. Consequently, the approach — that is, the conceptual stages, corresponding methods, and specific techniques for improving setups — can be applied in precisely the same way to all operations.
