ABSTRACT

This chapter talks about three students Don, Annette and Rob to remake the business world. Don had received his undergraduate education at an elite private university, as had Annette. Annette had considered becoming a doctor or a psychologist, since she had always had a desire to help people. Rob's orientation to application was at least partly attributable to the fact that most of his graduate work was done on a part-time basis while working, except for the last year, when he focused on the Master of Science in Human Resources (MSHR) degree to add to his Master of Business Administration (MBA). They were missionaries looking for a challenge, and they saw bringing rigor to management decisions relating to the workforce as their job. They all met one evening and decided that throughout their careers they would remain committed to helping organizations effectively utilize their most important asset—their people.
