ABSTRACT

This chapter talks about how Annette, Don and Rob, three human resource students, were satisfied with their professional lives. They had come to realize that most of what they did was related to and guided by what they had learned through their formal education. A few of the classmates had kidded Rob, Annette and Don about not being able to get a real job and about going into HR as a last resort. While in school, they had come in to their evening classes stressed from work and had hunkered down, trying to digest the hurried consumption of a delectable product from the vending machines. Kathy, one of Don's close friends, bemoaned the fact that she often viewed class discussion as a contest, which caused her to behave competitively. Kathy had noted Annette's mention of the book Dialogue, and she said that there was a fascinating insight she had found in the book but was not sure it was valid.
