ABSTRACT

Eric Wilson was dedicated to creating a Human Resource (HR) service center, where employees could get 24/7 advice, handle routine transactions themselves and do queries and research. He had attended a seminar on effective decision making in workforce management, and an example of a force field analysis that was both humorous and illustrative had been used. He had used a publication of the Society for HR Management (SHRM) Foundation entitled "Transforming HR Through Technology" as a guide for outlining the key issues faced when deciding on developing IT capabilities that would support HR. Rob talked to Eric about loading all of the job documentation onto an "opportunities warehouse" file, which would be accessible to employees and which also could be used to entice potential employment candidates. Systems had already been designed and implemented that enabled employees to access benefits information based on system requirements created jointly by Pete and Eric.
