ABSTRACT

Time and experience have a maturing effect on most people. This chapter discusses how the human resource students felt the they needed to convince human resources (HR) practitioners that they should develop their quantitative analysis skills. The students had recognized that the Master of Science in HR (MSHR) curriculum was far too light in this area. There were several suggestions made to the HR delegates that recruiters and staffing people should strike that question from their structured interview list. Some of the critics who questioned the student trio's decision to acquire the MSHR in addition to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) were not now so certain it was a waste of time. Among the students, Ralph was an avid proponent of evidence-based management and felt he could bridge the gap between research and practice in his field but was limited in his understanding of behavioral research.
