ABSTRACT

What I regard as the continuous and ubiquitous nature of the visual reverie and daydream is further developed in Chapter 6, where I also look more closely at the responsive and collaborative nature of image construction that is occasionally manifest as an experience of shared or parallel imagery, with its clinical and interpretative implications. I draw again on the writings of Isakower, Balter, Lothane and Spencer, Horowitz, Kern as well as on Bion’s thoughts on reverie, in support of these ideas.
