ABSTRACT
This chapter explains the difference between Digital Asset Management (DAM) and photo retouching, enhancement, and processing (PREP) and the importance of both. The history of digital post-processing beginning with Adobe Photoshop and cost-effective alternatives to Adobe Lightroom are explored. These include Corel AfterShot, Alien Skin Exposure X3, On1 Photo RAW, and Phase One Capture One.
