ABSTRACT

This chapter concludes the account of Buddhist Soft Compatibilism with considerations and questions raised or left unsettled by the account, or worth considering for a more complete account of Buddhist agency, some of which were mentioned in the Introduction and Chapter 1. For example, can we really make sense of agentless agency? How can we explain how an enlightened mind in nirvāṇa, the unconditioned, can engage in embodied action, embedded in the world of conditions?
